One of the more critical dimensions that affects tire clearance is the section width of the tire, or the overall width from sidewall to sidewall with the tire mounted on the rim and full of air. To check it, lay the tire on its side, place a straightedge across the tire, and measure the distance from the bottom of the straightedge to the floor.
