The floor reinforcement was munched near the attachment points for the shocks. Frechette decided to replace the taillight panel, cowl, driver-side fender, and this driver-side fender apron, which looked like it had been treated to some dodgy bodywork earlier in life. Likewise, the entire cowl assembly was replaced; the old one was completely rusted through. While some of these panels could have been repaired, it is often less expensive to replace them with reproduction pieces than to metal-finish them, depending on shop labor rates.
