Manifold Test - Ford Racing Boss 302 crate engine

Death of a Small-Block

Super Victor + Spacer
Since this is Car Craft, we had to go for the long bomb. The Ford Racing power numbers came from a test with a Holley 750 carb and a Wilson tapered 1-inch spacer, so we tried the same thing. This combination is 7.35 inches off the deck before you add the carburetor, so it isn't going to fit under many stock hoods—but it sure looks cool and let us wind the engine until it cried uncle. The horsepower peak was at 6,600 and the engine was using the ram air to cheat the heads and the cam at the end, but we made the advertised number, plus a little more.

I'd lik to see the same test using the wilson spacer on the rpm airgap intake. I use a funnel web(equal to the super vic) on a 302/5.0 motor in my 90 coupe with tfs 3 cam, ported world sr heads that has very good street manners and drive anywhere with 4.30 gears.
