The budget Maxie powers this street-driven, altered-wheelbase, straight-axle ’63 Dart with a full-manual pushbutton 727 TorqueFlite, 3,500-rpm converter and 3.91:1 gears. A recently constructed tribute to Jack Sharkey’s original Rampage Dart match-racer from Chicago, it delivers 302 hp and 328 lb-ft with the fenderwall headers capped and 334 hp and 358 lb-ft with the dumps open on the R.A.D. Auto Machine DynoJet roller. It’s fun but lacks the suds to pull wheelies. We need more.
