Be sparing with each product, work a section of the car at a time, wiping with a clean microfiber towel between each step. Depending on how deeply scratched or swirled your paint is, you may need two applications of compound. If that doesn’t get rid of the problems, you’ll need a pro-level heavy-cut compound or even a full-on wet-sand and buff.
