You have to know what you are doing to weld a rollbar together. The welds cannot have slag and porosity, and you can't grind the welds to cover your mistakes.

The crossbar also has to secure the shoulder harnesses. The rules state that the harness must limit the driver's travel up and forward, and can't be bolted to the car through the webbing.

Diagne uses a tubing notcher made by JD Squared to fit the tubing together. You can use the tool to get matching angles on the top and the bottom of the tube to avoid filling huge gaps with weld.

The main hoop must also be no more than 5 inches from the top of your helmet. The idea here is to create a triangle between the front of the car and the top of the bar so if you roll over, your head isn't holding the car off the ground.

Any car that requires a rollbar must have a quick-release, 3-inch driver restraint system with a 2-inch crotch strap. The belts have to be clearly labeled as meeting SFI Spec 16.1 and be replaced every two years. If you have an aftermarket seat, the crotch strap must be threaded through it. If you have a stock seat, the strap can go around the front. We are going to anchor ours to the floor with a 3/8-inch bolt, nut, and washer once it comes in the mail.
