Rear Suspension Tech Guide
One simple, inexpensive way to reduce axle tramp or wheelhop on any GM or Ford leaf spring rear suspension is with an additional main leaf. Trim the spring eyes from a used main leaf spring and add the leaf to an existing multileaf package. This will increase the overall spring rate, so removing a shorter leaf will help minimize the increase. Another trick is to clamp the forward ends of the spring to decrease the spring's tendency to wrap up.
