For the fuel line, we used -8 hose from the tank to the pump and onto the hard lines. We used a prefilter between the tank and the new Holley HP-125 pump and a post filter in the middle of the car where the two hard lines meet. We also replaced all the hard line in the car with new prebent pieces from Classic Tube. This assures us of good, clean fuel at the carb. We laid the preassembled fittings out on the table before cutting any hose. We also test-fit everything under the car to make sure we had the right fittings in the right places. We ended up swapping a straight fitting for a 90-degree to clear some brackets.

The prefilter catches all the big stuff, while the post filter is a stone type that gets the tiny stuff. They look exactly the same with the exception of a single digit in the part number. We labeled ours with a marker.

The hose pushed out just under the 0.060-inch limit--good enough. There should be a 0.060-inch gap between the fitting and the hose end; tighten it too much and the fitting can be damaged.

Once assembled, we sprayed a little cleaner in the hose. This will keep everything nice and clean. We also blew it out with compressed air.

No hacksaw here--you need a die grinder and a cutoff wheel to cut this stuff. Make sure to completely clean the hose inside diameter before assembly.

A nicely plumbed engine bay will always please a crowd. The black Ano-Tuff fittings and black hose are certainly a nice departure from the days of red and blue fittings of steel-braided hose. We like it. What do you think?
