Whether you do the work yourself or have a professional shop do it for you, a proper alignment is critical to improved handling and better tire wear.

1967 Ford Mustang Wheel Alignment Upper Control Arm Brace
The arrow points to how far the upper control arm brace had separated on our Mustang. This is the left or driver side, which was the worst.
1967 Ford Mustang Wheel Alignment Drum Brakes
Placing the hydraulic ram of the Port-A-Power between the frame and the spindle pushes the spindle forward and forces the upper, rear portion of the shock tower against the tin of the engine compartment. It's scary how far the ram pushes the spindle to bring the shock-tower support flush with the sheetmetal.

With the hydraulic ram still forcing the sheetmetal together, Marlon welded the shock tower to the sheetmetal for a permanent bond between the two pieces of tin.
1967 Ford Mustang Wheel Alignment Welds
These are the finished welds connecting the shock tower to the sheetmetal of the engine compartment. Not only will these never separate, but this also drastically increases the overall stiffness of the front suspension.
1967 Ford Mustang Wheel Alignment Camber
Over the years and as the sheetmetal bent, it created an increasing amount of negative camber, which required alignment shops to dial in more and more positive camber. Once the shock towers and supports were realigned and welded, it created a ton of positive camber that we now have to change.
1967 Ford Mustang Wheel Alignment Front Suspension
This is one of Marlon's trick tools he built that supports the upper control arm braced against the chassis. It allows him to jack up the front end while supporting the suspension. This is the equivalent of placing a floor jack under the lower control arm.
