482HP Smokey Yunick Trans-Am Camaro 302 / Edelbrock, Torrance, CA Few early Trans-Am cars have generated more historical interest than the Smokey Yunick Camaro. This is even more intriguing considering the Camaro never won a race when in Yunick's employ. But this takes nothing away from the innovation and creativity that went into this car. Smokey was primarily an engine man, which leads us directly to this little 302. Perhaps it is some sort of natural progression that Vic Edelbrock Jr. now owns the '68 Yunick Camaro since he worked with Smokey to produce the Edelbrock cross-ram manifold used on this car. This manifold was complex and required specific cam-spec knowledge and expertise to allow it to really shine. The engine makes an honest 1.59 hp/ci using mostly '60s technology, which is impressive in its own right.
