Piston deck height is checked using a bridge and a dial indicator. First the dial is zeroed on the deck, then it’s placed on a piston at TDC. Pistons rock in the bores, so it’s best to place the indicator along the axis of the piston pin. This piston is 0.003 inch below the deck. View Related Article
