How To Build A Fuel System
We marked the spare-tire well for the dimensions of the fuel cell’s sump. NHRA safety regulations require a sheet of 0.024-inch steel or 0.032-inch aluminum covering the bottom and sides of the sump extending from the car. Our first idea was to cut a flap out of the factory floorpan and use that to cover the bottom of the sump, then fabricate the sides. Later, we decided it was easier to just cut the hole and weld in a separate cover to protect the sump. View Related Article
