With all the TIG welding basics out of the way, you’re ready to connect all the fittings, plug your machine in, and get going. Be sure to set your regulator to 20 psi. Any more than that and you’re just wasting argon. Some TIG machines, like our Miller Diversion 180, come with both the traditional foot pedal and a new-style thumb control, which is convenient when working in a tight space where you may not be able to reach the pedal. In our next installment, we’ll actually burn some holes in stuff as we try to demonstrate proper TIG-welding techniques.
