Because TIG welding is a slower process than MIG welding, and because your hands are physically closer to the area you’re welding, both the torch and your hands can get hot pretty quickly. One way to upgrade your machine is to upgrade to a liquid-cooled torch, which pumps coolant around the torch head. It’s an expensive upgrade, but may be worth it if you weld for several hours at a time. Otherwise, the standard TIG torch that comes with most machines is air-cooled by the argon shielding gas that passes through it.
