Big-Block Buildup

Stabilizing the valvetrain is a set of Jesel Sportsman series 1.7:1 shaft-mount rockers with Comp Cams 10-degree locks, retainers, solid-roller springs, roller lifters, and 0.080-inch wall chrome-moly pushrods (8.460-inch on the intake and 9.270-inch on the exhaust).

To avoid any power loss from the sloshed up oil collecting on the crankshaft, Brule hand-fitted a Moroso crank scraper kit. The universal big-block scraper is made from 0.035-inch steel plate and can be trimmed to fit any application. Scraper kits are available for as little as $11.95 and only take some patience to properly fit any application.

The Moroso high-volume race oil pump and pickup were torqued to 65 lb-ft.

Moroso's Stage II Pro Eliminator oil pan is a box-style aluminum pan with relocated bolt holes that avoids interference with rods and accommodates any number of stroker configurations. Additional advantages include the uni-directional windage-tray screen that helps separate oil quickly from the rotating assembly and provides the ultimate oil control for maximum horsepower gains. And hey, it looks cool.

Brule procured a Wilson Manifolds-modified Edelbrock Super Victor single-plane to handle the air/fuel delivery. Needless to say, the port work was absolutely flawless, and it would be more than able to supply the atmosphere-gulping big-block.

Fueling the fire is a monstrous Demon Carburetion King Demon RS 1,095-cfm carb. Some of the features of this trick carb include three-circuit billet-aluminum metering blocks, a billet-aluminum baseplate, a large-capacity fuel bowl with the patented sight glasses for easier float adjustments, and fully adjustable air bleeds and idle-feed restrictors. We especially like that we can upgrade the carb by simply removing the replaceable sleeve, otherwise known as the venturi. Swapping out the blue sleeves for the gold sleeves increases the flow capacity from 1,095 cfm to 1,195 cfm.
