Comp Cams' PN 1054-16 1.7:1 roller rockers are an ingenious design that uses the stock mounting pads and alignment sleds, but replaces the stamped rocker with a roller-fulcrum aluminum rocker arm equipped with an adjuster nut on the pushrod cup to set valve lash or lifter preload. The only real downside is the retention of the relatively light-duty 5/16-inch holddown bolts, which are more than adequate for the valvespring pressures of a street engine but are not optimal for the stiffest race-type valvesprings.
