We tested the engine with a pair of Doug's Headers designed to fit a '60-'65 Ford Falcon. The stepped-tube Tri-Y design builds low-end torque by flowing spent exhaust gasses through the 1-5/8-to-1-3/4-inch primary tubes. The Tri-Y design eases fitment, and our testing of these headers on other small-cubic-inch engine combinations has shown them to perform as well as, or better than, tradi-tional four-into-one long-tube headers, even with their relatively small 2-1/2-inch collectors. Built from 16-gauge steel tubing with extra-thick 3/8-inch flanges and available with optional ceramic coating, they're not cheap, but they sure do work. View Related Article
