Thanks CC for the 87 octane build up, I will be building this very engine in the future. This will be perfect for an older 1971 F-100. I can build this a whole lot cheaper than CC did. Using 454 Chevy studs and guide plates. Ford Push rods hardened and 0.100 longer 516ths diameter with comp roller tip rockers, much cheaper than full roller rocker arms. Headman truck headers, cost on E bay $150.00,  A savings of $300.00 compared to the much cheaper headman headers. Weiand stealth small runner dual plane high rise intake. $125.00 savings over Edelbrock performer rpm. A Holley 0.3310-2 750 cfm vacuum secondary carb used E bay $75.00 $220.00 savings over a new 03310. Most wrecken yard 460 engines were taken care of by the owners. Soo- no over bore or new pistons needed. A standard re ring and bearing kit with gaskets and all the seale, $150.00 The alternator and starter are re used. A new streight up timing gear set if nedded. Most of the time their not, but you still need to replace latter than 1973 460's with a timing gear set thats not retarded 8 degrees. Oh a used wreckening yard complete engine from oil pan to carburator can be had for $200.00 dollars, already pulled from the vehical. The total spent including 460 engine is $990.00 $100.00 for DOVE headsHows that for cheap! I saved $2859.00 under CC's build
