When you’re young and impressionable, it’s the crazy entertainment we experience that defines our tastes. We’d bet that’s why there’s such a fascination across all age groups when it comes to witnessing a burnout. Maybe it’s that thick smoke, smell of burnt rubber or loud sound of an engine revving close by that stays on our minds as a good time. Whatever it may be, the carnage associated with a burnout competition is simply “crazy.”
On Friday, July 19th at 6pm, the 2013 CAR CRAFT Summer Nationals Burnout Contest Presented by F.A.S.T. will take place, sending chunks of rubber, smoke, and cheers from the crowd flying through the air. Chains will tightly bind a steel skid plate, dowsed in water, which awaits the friction of tires. Contestants will back their rides onto that metal slab and give it a go. Individually, each driver will have a predetermined amount of time to let ‘em rip as they show what they’re made of. The more tire smoke and crowd noise, the better a demonstration of power from the car and driver.
We hope you’ll join us July 19-21 at the St. Paul, Minnesota State Fairgrounds for CAR CRAFT’s largest event of the year, the 2013 CAR CRAFT Summer Nationals Presented by Chevrolet performance. Throughout the 3 day weekend car show will be a variety of events, from the Miss Summer Nationals bikini contest to the Real Street Eliminator presented by Fram Filtration.
