The SS cold-air induction system works like this: Air enters from the scoop in the top of the hood. It then winds around to either side of the air inlet through the underside of the hood. Just in front of the hood-latch mechanism on the underside of the hood are several holes that mate to an opening at the front of the air filter box. This system is mostly responsible for the 15hp jump in the SS LS1’s output rating to 320 hp, compared with 305 hp for standard Z28s. View Related Article
