1965 Chevrolet El Camino One Day Rebuild Crankshaft
After measuring bearing clearances, we added a set of Federal-Mogul 0.001-inch undersize main bearings to get the rod and main bearing clearances around 0.003 inch. We polished the engine off with an Edelbrock Performer flat-tappet hydraulic camshaft and a pair of iron 882 heads fitted with 2.02/1.60-inch valves. The engine was completed several months before the real thrash began.
