PSCA Wild Street:Las Vegas Motor SpeedwayThe fifth stop on the PSCA tour was a brutal one with temperatures soaring over 114 degrees in the day and still lingering well over 105 degrees at night. Fortunately, the PSCA opted to run both qualifying and eliminations in the evenings, avoiding the daytime heat and creating awesome racing action under the lights that lasted well into the night.

As you already know, we teamed up with Robert Varoujanian of Fast Track Performance in Newhall, California, who's piloting our resident Flamed-Fox with one of his potent nitrous-inhaling mills. It was a great match-up, as he's produced some rather incredible results with limited time in the PSCA's Mickey Thompson Tires Wild Street class. During this leg of the tour, RV qualified third with an 8.94 and was one of only three cars that dipped into the 8s.

During Saturday's eliminations, RV first took out Dave Osborne and his '67 Chevelle with an 8.97 at 152 mph over a slower 9.23 at 150 mph pass. In Round Two, RV edged out number two qualifier Dave Eggerling with a faster reaction time and stayed in front of the '70 Camaro for the win with a 8.92 at 153.26 mph to Eggerling's quicker 8.82 at 159 mph blast. In the finals, RV lined up against number five qualifier Levi Hanna and his Bow Tie-powered '89 Mustang GT. Only this time, Hanna left the gate first and kept the momentum to take the win with a 9.05 at 154 mph over RV's faster 8.99 at 152 mph pass.

So far we've entered three events, made two final round appearances, and consistently dipped into the 8s on P275/60R15 Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials. Not a bad way to start our season. Next stop: Back to Las Vegas for the Product Engineering Labor Day Nationals, presented by Russell Products!
