John was a racer, a grandfather, and a mentor. It was his soft-spoken approach and quiet determination that made him so powerful. You know he was a man who inspired others when you realize that there are guys who have been at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) for well over 25 years. I have no doubt that with Tom Cress managing the shop and John's brother Charlie helping with the financial decisions, LPE will continue to be a force in the performance industry. I will miss our long talks about camshafts and induction systems, and I will be forever impressed with his ability to know what that engine needed and how to finesse it to make more power.
