NMCA
Since there's no more precious resource to the sport of drag racing than the next generation of racers, the NMCA has instituted an exciting new program designed to introduce youngsters to the thrill of drag racing. First introduced at the Pittsburgh Raceway Park event, the "Kids Ride of a Lifetime" will now be a standard feature at all NMCA events, giving kids a thrilling ride in a real drag machine. Four lucky participants, two boys and two girls between the ages of 6 and 12, will be randomly chosen through a drawing. The first pair will be treated to a ride in a Super Pro car on Saturday, with the second pair gets to ride in a Nostalgia Pro Street machine on Sunday. Helmets will be provided, and all participants will be securely belted into their respective rides. Parents won't have to worry-the drivers will do a burnout and launch the car just hard enough to give the kids the feel of a real high-powered hot rod. Lifting after 100 feet or so, they'll coast the remainder of the ride through the top end of the track. For more information or a complete schedule of upcoming events, log onto www.nmca-racing.com.
