Samuel Smashes NMCA Pro Outlaw Record!Chuck Samuel of Fast Times Motorworks in Morton Grove, Illinois, piloted Kevin Marsh's turbo-powered '00 Mustang at the NMCA Atlanta race and reset both ends of the Pro Outlaw record during the second round of eliminations with a 6.537 at 218.48 mph! Samuels kicked up the e.t. bar another notch with an incredible 6.519 run and a similar 218-mph trap speed to back up the record later in the race. We're sure previous e.t.-recordholder Lawrence Conley and mph-recordholder Marc Dantoni will be digging deep into their bags of tricks to reclaim their former titles.

However, for Ford fans looking to join in on the fun of organized racing, the Fun Ford Weekend series offers its True Street class for any enthusiast with a real-world street machine.
All vehicles must be based on the '79 through '97 Fox chassis, which leaves the door open to a wide range of models including the Mercury Capri, Cougar, Zephyr, Lincoln Mark series Continentals (including the LSC), Fairmont, Thunderbird, '83-'86 LTD, and all '79-and-newer Mustangs. Rules are liberal with no restrictions on cubic inches or power adders, but cars must utilize stock-style suspension, and they are allowed to use any size or type of DOT-legal tire. All cars must be currently registered and insured.
