Superchargers require supercharger goodies. Check out the boost gauge from Auto Meter; it&8217s a 2-inch Phantom model that sweeps to 30 psi with a groovy white face and disco-red illumination. It was necessary for accurate boost readings during troubleshooting. The fuel gauge we used was also from Auto Meter; it can handle 0-100 psi and can be mounted on the hood (gloriously).

The shift light is activated by a module that we hid under the shifter console in the Camaro (see below). The 3,000-rpm chip is for testing the shift light; we used a 5,400-rpm chip at the track. We mounted the light in the factory shifter-light position under the A/C vents. At the preset rpm, the amber hits you right in the eye. It works killer with the factory tach without announcing to the world that you’re using it.

The MSD 6BTM comes with a boost-retard adjuster that can be mounted inside the car or under the hood. We wanted to resist the urge to fiddle with it at full-throttle on the racetrack, so we mounted it under the hood. The box is boost-referenced and can be adjusted from 1-4 degrees of retard per pound of boost. The PROM allowed us to make passes at the recommended 1 degree of retard without detonation.

We destroyed the gaskets while pulling the intake plenum and runners, so we needed an upper intake-manifold kit to complete the job. The kit was about 30 bucks and came with every gasket we needed and a few we didn’t. If you can&8217t get the runners off when you think the bolts are out, check the one bolt that opposes each runner under the fuel rail. They are easy to overlook.

There is a four-digit code written on the ECM that is hidden behind the dash on the passenger side of the Camaro. The Superchips guys need this code to perform their magic, so make sure that the code matches the code on the PROM itself. If they don&8217t match, use the code on the PROM.

The injector (on the right) is from TPIS. It is considerably larger than the stock units and will handle well over 100 psi of fuel pressure. Injectors clip into the fuel rail, requiring complete removal of the upper portion of the intake manifold and the runners.
