We started our project with a GM Performance Parts Bow Tie small-block that was machined to deliver 4.125-inch bores and had a 9-inch deck height and align-honed mains. Although the Bow Tie block has added beef for improved strength, if you want to save a few bucks, you could machine a used 400 small-block. View Related Article
