Why are we featuring Gary Parker's Pontiac? The reasoning is two-fold. First, it's a clean street machine built for cheap-about $4,500. Second, it's a hopped-up '73 Ventura, not the typical GM X-body streeter: a Chevy Nova. Gary opted for simple mods such as fitting the Poncho 350 with matched powertrain components from Edelbrock, including a hydraulic cam, a P4B intake, open-element air filter, and valve covers. A Holley 650 carb dribbles fuel inward and ACCEL goods provide spark. Dual exhaust with Thrush mufflers vents the burnt spew. Nothing fancy, just simple mods that work.
