1977 Chevy Disco Nova - Rear View

By , Photography by Brian Winckler

The Disco Nova It's been five years since the Disco Nova came and went in the pages of Car Craft. It was the cover car for the May '05 issue that ushered in the era of Loud. Fast. Real., new art and style, and a whole new way of thinking about car magazines. Although the '77 Nova Concourse two-door never got more than a few feet from the CC shop under its own power and was in only one story, it was the car that hung on the longest with reader inquiries about its whereabouts. This photo never ran in the magazine likely because of Editor Glad's ZX-7R parked in the background. We're not sure where the car is now. It was sold or traded by its owner instead of becoming a full-fledged project car.

The 77 Disco Nova ......OMG what I would do to have it....it looks just like my very 1st car !!! Y'all really did a beautiful job on her....mine was a 78 but they look almost identical...I had mine jacked up in back too and put bucket seats and a hurst gear shift in it...mine  was more a cream color but awww...I would die for another!!! I had to sale it back  89 due to a volatile marriage to get a away from my x husband then...it was still running and the engine was about to turn for the 3rd time...(300,00 miles) I sold it for 50.00.... the tires and rims were well worth more then that...    : (  my Daddy was a race car driver and I wanted a 68 but he bought the 78 and it was in great condition when he got it for me...belonged to a lill old Woman...Only AM radio and had never been driven over 55 mph...well being a daddy's girl and loved the races I turned it into a hot rod...lol...I have only seen 2 in 20 years since I lost her ...and begged to buy both ....they wouldn't sell...I would give my Motorcycle an 86 Harley Sporty and my 96 like New firebird for that Nova....No joke!!! As long as it's like New and runs good....if you come across another ...I'll buy and fix it up myself...Love it !!! Great job y'all....made me feel like a teen again to see it and someone bring it back to life...LOVE....!!!
