1969 Chevy Chevelle Blown 540

Jim Katakos, Valley City, OHWe've been working with centrifugal blowers and turbos for so long that seeing a car with an 8-71 has become a curiosity. Sure it requires a hole in the hood, but the looks alone more than make up for it. People just can't ignore something that makes close to 700 hp at the wheel and is driven all the time.

The 540, blower, and '69 Chevelle represent the culmination of Jim Katakos' dream to own a blown and tubbed street machine. There is nothing too complicated about this combination, yet the Chevelle has been 10.30 at 130 mph and street-driven at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit and to several shows around the country.
