Summer Of '82Look around on the newsstand right about now, and we expect you'll see a lot of anniversary issues. It's almost 2007, so it's the 75th anniversary of the '32 Ford, the 50th of the '57 Chevy, and the 40th of the Camaro and Firebird. Less hoopla will be made for the 40th anniversary of the Mopar 318 LA engine, the 10th of the LS1 V-8, the 5th of the death of the Camaro, and the 25th of the passing of Randy Rhoads. We'll also chalk up 25 years of the third-gen Camaro and Firebird, celebrated here as we revisit a pair of CC projects from 1982. While the magazine was cheering the high-16-second performance of the new 305-powered Z28s, it was also building a Pro Street version (natch) as well as a painted-up stocker (the yellow one) that was given away along with a load of speed parts at the '82 Street Machine Nationals.
