Project Update!
You might not be wondering about the Rambler, since we've managed to keep the project alive with a few paint and body stories. Since the ride to San Diego during the Anti-Tour, we've dropped in the 360 from the Jan. '06 issue and returned the car to the road. Look for burnouts and race-track action as soon as we get the bugs out.
Police Squad!
Why John is spending time on this body style we will never know. For a while, we thought we would suddenly share his vision for this car and agree that it is badass. No, that never happened. Maybe a 572 will help.
The FireBurp
The name connotes lowbrow humor, and we have to say it fits the car. The 'Burp was hosed with speed goodies from SLP and a nitrous kit before Terry McGean ran it out of gas. It ran a solid 13.10 and is currently acting as a commuter for Freiburger's wife while her Geo Metro or whatever is in the shop. As soon as we get it back, we will add more speed.
The Disco
The letters about this car never ever being finished are slowly turning into irate rants. Your anger is justified, since we are slowly doing nothing to the car. This is Freiburger's basket, and for some reason, he can't get 'er done. E-mail him grief at hotrod@primedia.com.
The Graveyard
We spotted this yard full of potential projects on the way back from Arizona on a high-speed test run in an '06 GT Mustang. Looks like several Darts and Dusters, a '50s wagon, a Rambler, and a couple of small-block Chevy cars. A big fence stood in the way of closer inspection.
