It Was Funny At The TimeWe just came home from a Chip Foose-glorification seminar at the Petersen Museum down the street, where Uncle Pete has the restored Snake and 'Goose Hot Wheels Funny Cars on display. They were so much cooler than the antiques and Batmobiles on display that it was sick, and we immediately understood why Car Craft was so full-on drag-oriented in the late '60s and early '70s. Our June '71 cover was wall-to-wall Funnies, and here's an outtake of that photo shoot by Don Green at Orange County International Raceway. That's The County to you. It's an overgrown parking lot today. Someone needs to restore the SoCal dragstrips. By David Freiburger Enjoyed this Post?
