GT40 Mark II 427 / Holman Moody, Charlotte, NCTucked away in a garage near Charlotte, Lee Holman is re-creating original GT40 Mark IIs identical to the Le Mans cars that dominated that race in 1966 and 1967. This 427 was built by Jimmy Tucker, one of the original Holman Moody engine builders in the '60s. It powers Lee's Mark II, which he built in 1995 using the original tooling, spare parts, and most of the mechanics that worked on the era-defining racing effort. Holman Automotive Inc. still makes all the unique parts for these engines, so if you have an extra 30K you can have one. GT40 not included. Enjoyed this Post?
