1955 Chevrolet 210 Interior
The stock dash remains intact, while a brace of Autometer gauges and rocker switches are housed in a custom panel against the headliner (not seen). The dual-circuit brake master cylinder is concealed behind the dashboard, with access via the factory radio-delete plate. Sagonas Upholstery covered the Kirkey race buckets to match the vibe of the '55's interior and laid down the custom carpeting, which also covers what was once the rear seat area. The cage is by Plan B.
1955 Chevrolet 210 Engine Bay
In the interest of saving weight while adding strength, the '55's big-block is based on a Donovan aluminum block. A Lunati 4.250-inch-stoke crank, Carillo 6.375-inch rods, and CP 4.50-inch pistons make 540 inches. Brodix BB-2 Xtra heads with 119cc chambers make 9.0:1 compression to handle the charge from the Littlefield 8-71. There are eight 80-lb/hr injectors sandwiched between the injector hat and the blower, controlled by a Plan-B hybrid ECU. Street trim called for 10 percent underdrive on the blower while swapping pulleys for race trim yields 18 percent overdrive and 15 pounds of boost.
1955 Chevrolet 210 Trunk Fuel Cell
The fuel cell and pumps are what you'd expect to find in the trunk of a ride like this, but look closer and you'll notice that tucked on either side are fluid coolers. The left mounts the oil cooler and the right is for the trans. Electric fans pull air in from the interior, over the coolers, and out into the wheelwells. Landi says this diverts heat from the engine bay while also freeing up space.
