2015 Ford Mustang Revealed at TCL Chinese Theatre

Ford unveils the 50th anniversary of the Mustang in Hollywood

We’re currently at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California, for the unveiling of the 2015 Ford Mustang. The new ponycar was announced with an optional GT package that cranks out 420hp from an all-aluminum 5.0L Coyote engine. Also available will be a 305hp, 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder.

For the 50th anniversary of the ponycar, Ford made leaps and bounds redesigning and overhauling the platform. The auto manufacturer brought the unveiling celebration to the TCL Chinese Theatre, formally known as the Grauman's Chinese Theatre and Mann's Chinese Theatre, because of its popularity as a tourist destination on Hollywood Boulevard. Millions of people walk past the theater each year, stopping to admire famous handprints and signatures displayed out front.

The event kicked-off with a breakfast, then a meet ‘n’ greet with executives from the Ford, and finally the launch of the all-new Mustang. Later this afternoon, we’re heading down the road to Venice beach for another Mustang celebration hosted by Ford. At the beach will be a car show for the general public; those wanting to display their Mustang pride, as well as to get close to the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang, will be welcomed. Stay tuned as we bring you more details about the Venice car show, and also more photos of the unveiling from the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

I wish I was. But it still looks gross!

rear drive, V8 is not American? bad move buying a Camaro, those things are fat and ugly. Camaro needs a few extra hp to keep up with the Mustang.

I don't like it. Too futuristic looking, just like the new Camaro. Ford had a good thing going with the 2005-up style, they should have left it alone. It had the best retro vibe of the big 3, now they ruined it!

this will turn into a chick car just like the Camaro

Not a very flattering angle here. But I agree, a turbo 4 base engine is totally fine and dandy. But is premium fuel required in that engine? Anyone know for sure?

I keep seeing people slam the four banger. Why? Who cares how many cylinders you get your 305 HP out of?

and I need a pony Camaro body on the cheap to drop a 400 SB and a 2spd power glide into....

looks = sales...4yl-6cyl-8cyl......a couple 1000 high performance models don't drive sales, you need the sales of lower models or the high performance ones are too expensive for production

Performance alone won't do it, ala the Holden GTO's that looked like big Hondas but had the LSX performance.

if theyre going for performance, but theyre on a budget, then they would pick camaro and challenger. never would i buy any pony car that came with a 4 cylinder, even if it has a turbo.

only problem with that is....the looks are close to the same on the cheaper ones.....the retro look is what drove sales on all three..

not likely, people who buy these cars are looking for performance mainly, looks second
