1969 Pontiac GTO Judge Found In Barn

The Lost Judge in the Barn. One of Pontiac’s rarest muscle cars awaits its fate.

What would you do if you opened a rickety-old barn door, and there, untouched by human hands for decades, was a documented 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge—one of the most collectible coupes in muscle-car history?

We will let you ponder that question for now and tell you that the photos in this feature are real. Here’s the backstory.

Some 25 years ago or more, this Judge traded ownership, and its new (and current owner) put it in the safest place on his property he could find—a cow barn. He planned on restoring it, but his out-of-state job was an excuse to procrastinate, and the years passed and passed and passed.

What havoc does 25 years in a cow barn wreck upon a muscle car? According to the owner’s uncle (both men prefer that their names and the location of The Judge are not disclosed to the public), The Judge is covered up to the rockers in mud and cow manure, and rat excrement litters both its exterior and interior.

“I hope he will get to it sometime, but I can tell you [it won’t be anytime] in the near future,” the uncle says. So let’s go back to the question. What would you do if you were the first person to discover this 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge in its location and in the condition it is in?

Im not a gm man but it is his car and he can do whatever he wants with it ,if it were on the road and not in this barn it probably would have been totaled or rusted away along time ago

The Goat has to be removed from this mess and sold. Such a fine car doesn't deserve this. To be stuck in cow dung for 25 years, is an insult. At the least let it see the light of day. I don't know where this is located, but I will bring a shovel to help. My first car was a 1969 GTO with an Oldsmobile ROCKET for a power plant. I was 18 years old and 127 lbs soaking wet. Alas, it was a money pit. The Goat always knew when it was payday. I sold it to my older brother when I joined the Navy in '82. He found a new front clip that he got for $100. He was taking it to get painted when he was hit head-on by a ford Bronco. He survived the accident but the Goat didn't. He was killed in 2010 putting an engine in an 1998 F150 using a forklift by himself. He got pinned between the forklift tines and the engine bay. Found him 3 hours later. Be careful when using heavy equipment by yourself.

I'd still take that one, dented fender and rotten underside, over the Aussie bizzaro GTOs.

How bad could it have been in 1989 (25 years ago)???  Why would it have needed to be restored? Too bad the owner didn't just repair what might have been wrong with it and at least get some enjoyment from it during the last 25 years!!! I have had some long term project cars of my own, but they weren't '69 Judges!! This is so sad it makes me upset to see that it happened like this..It will now take a TON of money to make this Judge back to perfect condition.. :((

It is too bad too...  I am a HUGE Pontiac fan!!
