Anti-Tour 2009 - Road Trip Hard-Core

We were surprised to see a '30 Ford street rod until we found out that owner Brian Cosby is actually a Mopar guy. This car belonged to his father.

The Barracuda has a 0.030-over 360 that was installed the Sunday before the Tour. The engine had about 20 miles on it before the trip. The combo has 9.0:1 compression and a Comp Thumpr cam. The trans is a New Process 745, which is a stock transmission for the original 273, four-speed combo.

John Gay is the owner of the '66 Barracuda out of Lancaster, California. John, Brian, and Aqua Bob showed together and rotated in and out of the street rod and the Barracuda.

Repeater Randy Burg brought out his stroker 498ci Wedge-powered Dodge Dart. We've featured this car before, and since then Randy has swapped the engine and gears, pulled the four-speed, and installed a TKO-600 from Keisler.

Randy's new engine has a 440 block with a 4.25-inch stroked crank, Edelbrock heads, a Victor 440, a Mighty Demon 850 carb, and an MSD 6AL ignition. The headers are from TTI with 2-inch primaries with 3-inch exhaust. It now runs 11.60s at LVMS instead of mid-12s.
