Scott Drake Pay It Forward Winner Announced

In celebration of Drake Automotive Group's 30th anniversary and the 45th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, Scott Drake and the Mustang Club of America are giving one MCA club a chance to Pay It Forward with the ultimate Mustang makeover. The lucky MCA club will start with a '66 Ford Mustang convertible project car and $10,000 in parts donated by Scott Drake. The club will finish with a fully restored Mustang that will be displayed in the Scott Drake booth during the 2009 SEMA show and later sold at auction. Proceeds from the sale of the car will benefit the charity selected by the winning MCA club, giving them an opportunity to Pay It Forward.

Several clubs from across the country submitted applications for the contest. Mustangs of East Texas (www.mustangsofeasttexas.com) stood out from the rest by providing a hardbound book with a full timeline and delegated plan of the restoration. The club knows who will be responsible for every part of the car. The club has worked with the East Texas Crisis Center (www.etcc.org) for years. The crisis center is "dedicated to providing safety, shelter, and education for victims of family violence, sexual assault, and other violent crime with a commitment to restoring dignity and purpose in the lives of victims and promoting public compassion and awareness in order to reduce violence in our community."

Scott Drake and Mustangs of East Texas aren't the only ones involved in this project. Quantum Performance will donate an engine of the club's choice to the project, Performance Automatic will provide a C4 automatic transmission, and Kicker Audio will provide a complete audio system for the car.
