This looks more like a typical SoCal drag meet than a track in Malmö, Sweden. This photo was snapped in 1972 by Lars Ekman, uncle of Car Craft graphic designer Kimson Ekman. Lars was part of a Swedish Fuel Funny Car team and took this photo in the pits at a race. Check out the American support vehicles. The van in the background appears to be a Dodge, but Kimson says there wasn't a big van scene in Sweden, just a strong drag-racing presence. Note the two AA/FD Fuel dragsters and what looks to be a Fuel Altered on the trailer. The Sundance Kid looks to be Norwegian from the flag sticker on the body, so this could have been a large Scandanavian event. By Douglas R. Glad Enjoyed this Post?
